The New Hampshire Orchid Society (NHOS) Conservation & Education Committee is pleased to promote our Grant program. Created by Jean Stefanik in 2004 as a response to assist with the creation of El Pahuma Orchid Reserve in Ecuador, this initiative was bolstered by contributions at annual NHOS shows, donations, and an especially significant bequest by Ovid Slavin, long-time orchid enthusiast and NHOS member.
This program is intended to provide funds for creative projects directly involved with and benefiting the broad mission of Orchid Conservation, which shall be the greatest consideration for funding decisions. This is an opportunity for both individuals and organizations to be specific in requesting funds.
Membership in NHOS is not required, but NHOS members will be given a higher priority. Range of grant monies is from $100-$1000. Grants shall be one-time per project awards. This grant process is specifically not to be used to cover speaker or attendee expenses at conferences or gatherings, nor any conference-related travel expenses. Request must be specific, “general funding” within a much larger project will not be awarded.
Applications may be sent by email to conservation@nhorchids.org or by postal mail to:
