The New Hampshire Orchid Society (“NHOS”, "society", “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, website visitors, vendors and donors (“users”, “you”, “your”). The NHOS will not collect any personal data unless you provide it voluntarily and we do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal information you provide to any outside party. When you provide your personal data you are consenting to such use, and any personal data provided will be kept private.

Situations when we may ask you to provide personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Purchase a membership
  • Purchase an event ticket or register for an event
  • Participate in events promoted by our society

  • Fill out forms to communicate information to us (e.g.: expense reimbursement, show application)

Usage Data

Reading pages or downloading information from our website does not allow us to collect any personal information or determine your e-mail address, but usage data may be collected automatically by our website provider when using the website. We do not utilize any usage data that may be collected by our website provider.

  • To allow us to manage an event which requires registration through our website.

  • To provide you with news or general information about purchases you made, membership status, notice of our newsletters and activities or events of interest to our members.
  • We may use your information for other purposes, such as a survey to evaluate and improve your experience as a member of our society or user of our website.
  • When joining NHOS we ask you to provide contact information which is included in our "Member Directory". This directory is located in a section of our website that is only available to members of NHOS. We provide this information so that our members have the information needed to communicate with each other to build friendship and community.

Retention of your Personal Data

The New Hampshire Orchid Society will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. You have the right to delete or request that we assist in deleting the personal data that you provided to us. Our website gives you the ability to delete certain information about you from within the website. You may update, amend, or delete your information at any time by signing in to your account, if you have one, and visiting the account settings section that allows you to manage your personal information. You may also contact us to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us.

The security of your personal data is important to us, but no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

The New Hampshire Orchid Society may under certain circumstances be required to disclose your personal data if required to do so in response to valid legal requests such as a court order.

When you send questions or comments to NHOS, whether through e-mail, social media, or in-person interactions, we may use your personal information to respond to your questions or comments. Copies of such communication will likely remain on email servers or social media platforms. We will attempt to delete such communication when requested, and if possible to do so. 

Should photos be willingly submitted, posted online or taken during NHOS events or activities that NHOS members participate in, the society retains the right to use those photos at a later date. Permission will be requested when possible.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
